Steepleview is a sought after area just north of the London to Southend Arterial Road (A127). It is so called because it is possible to see several local churches from its location. These are St Mary's in Little Burstead, St Mary Magdalene at Great Burstead and St Nicholas in Laindon.
It has expanded over the years, especially following large scale development in the 1990's onwards.
